Having lived in the Eastern suburbs of Sydney for some time now, I’ve become close to the many characters that make up its vastly varied community. Bondi Beards was born out of a trend in beards that had swept the coastal communities in both young and old generations alike. My focus in these portraits was to get beyond the beard and find out more about these individuals, usually over a beer or a cuppa. Each shot tells a personal story about these people, highlighting their faces in a stripped back, honest way.
