Structural Concrete Industries (SCI) is a specialist precast concrete company behind structures like The Cutaway in Barangaroo and The Sydney Exhibition Centre, among many others. I was commissioned by Universal Favourite, who recently refreshed the SCI brand, to capture the people, the processes and the final structures. The brief was to produce imagery that mirrors SCI’s new identity, born from the concept of a sound foundation that allows for the building of a simple, elegant system which contains multitudes of complexity within it. The result captures the structures with interesting angles and utilises strong, sharp shadows from the early morning and evening sun. These shadows help create depth and echo the precise lines of concrete construction within the larger structure.
